The Wagoneers Ride Again on Sun Radio

Recently on A Hill Country Saturday, Kevin Connor welcomed Monte Warden back to Sun Radio for a world premiere of the first new songs released by Monte Warden and the Wagoneers since 1989.

“The Wags” were originally signed to A&M Records at the very first SXSW in 1987, releasing two albums on the legendary label and becoming a staple of Austin’s roots music scene. Now, decades later, the band is back with new recordings.

The songs were cut last year at Arlyn Studios in Austin and will also be featured live at the next Texas Radio Live at Moontower Saloon on Wednesday, March 11.

In this segment from A Hill Country Saturday, you can hear the new songs “Doghouse Flowers” and “Yesterday Stopped By,” along with a new recording of the Wagoneers’ classic “Stout and High.”
