This week’s Loris’ DEBUT at NOON brings a fresh wave of brand-new music from artists who are breaking molds, blending genres, and leveling up their sound. From Texas legends to emerging talents and daring new collaborations, Loris is serving up tracks worthy of an instant add to your playlist. Here’s what hit the airwaves this week.
Deer Fellow – Easier
Austin-based duo Deer Fellow serves up cozy indie folk-pop rooted in the city’s collaborative, genre-blurring spirit. Made up of Matt Salois on vocals, electric guitar, looping, and percussion alongside Alyssa Kelly on vocals, violin, and keys, the pair creates warm, intimate songs that feel lived-in yet quietly adventurous. Their cross-genre sound blends folk textures with subtle pop sensibilities, resulting in music that’s both comforting and bold, drawing listeners in and stirring hearts with each carefully crafted note.
The Statesboro Revue – Flying Blind
The Statesboro Revue is a band built for the stage, where their groove-heavy, old-school rock and roll truly comes alive. Founded in 2008 and led by frontman and primary songwriter Stewart Mann, the band’s sound was shaped by years of traveling and performing from Texas to Tennessee to California and back, ultimately taking root in a powerful live chemistry. Their reputation as a must-see act was cemented when Rolling Stone named them a highlight of SXSW, and it’s easy to hear why. With a soulful, road-worn vocal presence, sharp guitar work, and a rhythm section that knows how to drive and swing, The Statesboro Revue delivers high-energy performances that linger long after the final chord, earning them stages alongside some of the most respected names in rock, blues, and Americana.
All Skate – Better Let That Go
In 70s roller-rink slang, “All Skate” means, “Everyone, do your thing.” And, in a town filled with original music, the band All Skate is definitely a little iconoclastic. Funky, melodic, hypnotic, and sometimes bright and ethereal, these musicians combine influences that are a little out of the ordinary for Austin, Texas. Mixing reggae, samba and northeastern Brazilian rhythms with American soul and funk, the All Skate rhythm section generates a fat groove that backs two gifted and powerful lead vocalists. Harmonies flow throughout All Skate’s show, and the band’s catalog of original songs and covers range from bossa nova and reggae to deep funk to energized pop.
kingcaid – Purgatory
kingcaid is the solo project of Michael Kingcaid, former frontman and songwriter for the Austin-based indie rock band What Made Milwaukee Famous. Known for his evocative lyricism and dynamic performances, Kingcaid channels his experience into a more dense, cinematic, pop sound under the kingcaid moniker.
Blending moody rock textures with atmospheric storytelling, kingcaid draws inspiration from Deer Tick, Queens of the Stone Age, Elliott Smith, Spoon, and Rufus Wainwright. His music captures the emotional weight of longing and redemption, with arrangements that feel both intimate and expansive.
SOB & The Dangs – Supervision
SOB & The Dangs is an Austin-based four-piece led by songwriter and bassist Stacey McCann, delivering high-energy funk, groove, and soul with three voices and four instruments. Blending mostly original songs with choice covers, their sets move effortlessly from booty-shaking funk to heartfelt ballads, all with humor and heart. Made up of veteran musicians with deep Austin roots, the band brings infectious grooves and feel-good energy that’s all about connecting with the crowd and keeping bodies moving.
