This week’s Loris’ DEBUT at NOON brings a fresh wave of brand-new music from artists who are breaking molds, blending genres, and leveling up their sound. From Texas legends to emerging talents and daring new collaborations, Loris is serving up tracks worthy of an instant add to your playlist. Here’s what hit the airwaves this week.
Sweet Slacks – A Place We Call Home
Sweet Slacks is an Austin-based rock band originally formed in 2018 by two Steves, Nick and later joined by drummer Zak in 2023. Rooted in a shared love of guitar-driven indie sounds, their music ranges from dreamy melodies to danceable hooks and punchy pop-punk energy. After dropping three singles last year, the band is gearing up to release their debut full-length, A Place We Call Home, on December 5, 2025, with a limited vinyl pressing to follow in early 2026. Here’s a track from the Debut:
Owen Temple – Fats Domino
Music has a way of carrying you somewhere else, and Owen Temple’s new single does exactly that—transporting us back to March 1957, when his grandfather stumbled upon Fats Domino on the side of the road fixing a flat tire. After lending a hand and getting him back on the road to his next gig, Fats thanked him with a stack of LPs and 45s. Hear Owen Temple’s sludgy, countrified retelling of the story below.
Scuff Up – Where I Belong
Austin’s own Scuff Up crank out a high-energy blast of punk-meets-noise-pop, and their new single “Where I Belong” captures that raw DIY spirit perfectly. With a gritty edge and a genre-bending sound that’s turning heads across the ATX underground, they’re quickly becoming one of the city’s standout new acts. If you’re hunting for the next wave of loud, local, and uncompromising Austin music, this is the band to watch.
Future Clouds and Radar – Cabbage Town (featuring Betty Soo)
Future Clouds and Radar deliver a vibrant, technicolor swirl of indie and psychedelic pop straight from Austin. Created by Robert Harrison of Cotton Mather, the project is known for its lush melodies, post-Beatles psychedelia, and wide-open sonic imagination. With rich instrumentation and symphonic, studio-crafted layers, Future Clouds and Radar create expansive pop that feels both artful and wildly adventurous.
Terry Klein – Hopelessness is Going Around
Terry Klein is an Austin-based songwriter who lives on the road—writing, recording, and performing wherever his 2015 Toyota Venza takes him. Hailed by the Austin American-Statesman as “one of Austin’s top singer-songwriters in recent years,” Terry now returns with his new album, Hill Country Folk Music. Recorded and produced in just four days by Thomm Jutz at his Nashville studio, the record is jubilant, defiant, desperate, and contemplative—refusing to fit neatly into any one box, much like the Texas Hill Country, folk music itself, and Terry.
