Dripping Springs Makes History as Playoffs Arrive

Texas high school football is built on pride, grit, and a whole lot of small-town heart, and a few Central Texas programs are showing exactly why these lights shine so bright. Dripping Springs, Blanco, and Gonzales are each carving out their own story this season, and the energy around all three feels different in the best way.

Dripping Beats Westlake KDPR

Dripping Springs is the headline right now. The Tigers didn’t just show up against Westlake, they beat the Central Texas powerhouse, for the first time in program history. A statement win that turned heads across the state. It feels like the start of a new era. And you can catch them in Round 1 of the playoffs Thursday, November 13 on KDRP 103.1 as they take on Vista Ridge at Tiger Stadium. Pregame at 6:30, kickoff at 7.

Blanco is doing what Blanco always does: tough, disciplined football that travels. Their run game is steady, their defense hits hard, and they always show up in November. The Panthers kick off their playoff run Friday, November 14 on 106.9 FM and 88.9 FM as they face Industrial at Eagle Field in Luling. Pregame at 6:45, kickoff at 7.

And down in Gonzales.  They’ve got a spark, some breakout playmakers, and a community ready for a playoff football. You can hear them Friday, November 14 on KCTI 88.1 FM as they take on Bandera at Memorial Stadium in San Antonio. Pregame at 6:45, kickoff at 7.

Central Texas football is cooking right now. Dripping Springs is making noise, Blanco is holding down tradition, and Gonzales is rising at the right time. And a big shoutout to the Giddings Buffalos on a great season.
