The City of Austin and Travis County are working on a comprehensive Food Plan for our area. Kevin Connor talks with Edwin Marty, the COA Food Policy Manager, about some of the reasons such a plan is needed: Only 0.06% of the food we consume is produced here; we’re losing 16.8 acres of farmland a day; 14% of our people are food insecure; we waste over a million pounds of food every day.
