Sun Radio Renames Their Austin Studios “The Raul Malo Studios”

Austin, Texas — December 9, 2025 — Sun Radio announced today that its Austin studios will be renamed “The Raul Malo Studios” in December as a tribute to the incomparable musician and Mavericks frontman Raul Malo, who passed away today at age 60.

Beyond his unmistakable voice, Raul Malo, along with The Mavericks, showed Sun Radio and our audience extraordinary generosity over the years. They performed for our listeners, supported our mission, and lifted the music community with warmth and kindness that matched the power of Raul’s voice.
