To kick off our celebration, the Damn Torpedoes, Ray Benson, Kevin Russell, Kelley Mickwee, the Grackles, and more took the stage for a special Tom Petty Tribute Show, delivering an unforgettable night of live music and Petty classics. The crowd sang every word, keeping the spirit of Tom and the Heartbreakers alive well into the night. Sun Radio then celebrated Tom Petty Day in true rock ’n’ roll fashion — with 24 hours of Tom Petty music filling the airwaves. From “American Girl” to “Free Fallin’” and every deep cut in between, listeners spent the day reminiscing, singing along, and honoring one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
